Our Heritage

Tracing our roots to 1986

At Shutters of Elegance, our story begins with friendship, expertise, and a shared passion for beautiful homes.

Founded on 23 October 2020 by five friends with a wealth of experience across the various industries, our roots run deep in Lincolnshire craftsmanship. What began as a vision has grown into one of the region’s most trusted names in bespoke plantation shutters.

Built on Strong Foundations

Shutters of Elegance was born from the heritage of Grimsby Sunblinds, a local, family-run business established in 1986 and now into its third generation. Over the decades, Grimsby Sunblinds has become a household name - known for quality, service, and community connection.

As demand for shutters grew rapidly, key partners Shaun and Kev saw the opportunity to offer something dedicated - something elegant. Together, they assembled a team with a unique blend of experience and expertise:

Shaun – With years of expeirence in Blinds, he was the founding force behind the company.
Kev – Practical & personal, the ideal fit for growing sales.
Andy – A highly qualified accountant, ensuring strong foundations for sustainable growth.
Karl – A tech-savvy investor with a passion for streamlined operations.

Together, they created Shutters of Elegance; dedicated to delivering plantation shutters in Grimsby and shutters in Cleethorpes, with the same service across Louth, Lincoln and beyond.

Locally Grown. Nationally Inspired.

Since day one, our growth has been fuelled by word of mouth; happy customers telling others, and a steady stream of glowing 5-star reviews. It’s this trusted reputation that has helped us grow from a small start-up into a thriving local business.

Now in our fifth year, we’re proud to be investing in the future: with a brand-new showroom, expanding team, and smarter systems designed to make the journey from quote to installation smoother than ever.

Though we’ve grown, our values remain the same: genuine care, impeccable quality, and a deep connection to the community we serve.

Welcome to Shutters of Elegance; rooted in Grimsby, designed for your home.
